Kabba-Bunu residents protest rising banditry in Kogi West, demand urgent government action

Residents of Kabba-Bunu in Kogi West senatorial district on Friday staged a protest over the worsening security situation in the area.

Zagazola Makama reports that the protesters, who turned out in large numbers, decried the growing activities of bandits, alleging that several indigenes have been abducted and are currently being held hostage.

They appealed to the government to take immediate and decisive action to curb the insecurity, warning that continued neglect could further destabilise the region.

According to them, fear of attacks has forced many communities to abandon their homes, leaving villages deserted.

The demonstrators stressed that urgent intervention is required to restore peace and prevent the situation from escalating beyond control.
