Were Real Madrid right to let Martin Odegaard go?

 

When Martin Odegaard left Real Madrid for Arsenal a year ago, many saw it as a disaster. Madrid sold him in a deal worth around 40 million euros. Arsenal have now put their faith in him, giving him a deal which runs until 2026, while Real Madrid didn't show any real willing to keep him in Spain. 

The Gunners are currently on five-game winning streak in all competitions, and Odegaard, who turned 23 on December 17, has stood out over this period. In 19 games this season, he's notched four goals, four assists and several Man of the Match and Team of the Week awards.
